Additional information: Because of the process, 90% is the highest concentration of DMSO that can be achieved in a gel form.

Some of the advantages of DMSO gel are; it is spill resistant and it can be applied with fingertips.

DMSO gel is recommended for first aid or travel kits, the elderly and the accident prone.

We use the gelling agent Carbopol 940 because it is thermally stable, makes a clear colorless uniform gel, will not grow mold, and only requires a minimal amount to achieve a consistent viscosity.

Carbopol, is used in many pharmaceuticals and OTC medicines. Sodium Carbonate is added to adjust the pH.
